The steel shoe, depth and bevel adjustment are a little lighter construction the DEWALT and MAKITA so the PORTER-CABLE PCE300 Circular Saw is definitely not a job site saw or a circular saw for heavy remodeling use.
What we do like about this saw is its overall feel and balance. Sometimes a power tool just feels right and this circular saw fits the hand well. The PORTER-CABLE PCE300 doesn't win our recommendation on the best corded circular saw list for best budget saw because of price. It's easily piped to the post by the Skil 5080-01 and HYCHIKA Circular saw as far as bang for buck goes. This is a good saw however so if Porter Cable is your brand you won't go far wrong

Its light weight at only 6.95 lbs. so if you’ve got a large home project then the Skil 5080 will make a great addition to your roster of woodworking power tools.
The Skil 5080-01 15-Amp 7-1/4″ Circular Saw has been designed and built to a budget price point. It’s not a job site saw by any stretch of the imagination so if that’s what you’re looking for then you will have to look elsewhere.

The HYCHIKA is a good general purpose circular saw and wins a place on our best corded circular saw list because of the package.
A good sturdy saw that can be used for general work around the house and woodworking shop or as a back-up saw to your pro saw when you’re out on the job. The HYCHIKA 12.5 AMP Circular Saw is the surprise entrant to our best corded circular saw list. Like the TACKLIFE brand it's a direct Chinese import but non the worse for that and is a worthy contender for best budget saw.
